i committed a crime
It’s true.
I didn’t write yesterday’s email….
Well, kinda.
You see, yesterday I did something most writers would probably look down on.
What did I do?
I posted a tweet, took it down and reused it as an email.
I’m exposing myself before anyone else does.
And that’s the point I wanna talk about in today’s email.
No, not the part about me getting exposed.
I’m talking about the power of repurposing content.
If you’re not repurposing your content, you’re wasting precious time.
You’re working harder, not smarter.
One of my favorite things about writing is that you can go back to an old post, change up a few words and, boom, a brand new piece of content.
Done in as little as 15-30 minutes.
Something I’ve been doing to repurpose my content is keeping a swipe file.
What’s a swipe file?
To me, it means keeping a file of all my best performing tweets.
The ones with the most likes, retweets, bookmarks…
You get the idea.
If I send out 30 tweets this week, I’ll keep a file of my 5 best performing tweets for that week.
Then from there, I gauge how I’m going to write my emails, and soon some YouTube videos scripts.
More to come on that in the next few days.
Anyway, if you’re putting out content and you’re not keeping track of it, I highly encourage you to start.
It’ll save you lots of time in the future.
Thanks for reading and have a blessed rest of your day.
