Get up and walk

Walks are amazing.

If you’re not taking walks regularly, you’re missing out big time.

I’ve probably written 5 emails on the topic.

And there’s still more to come.

Its kinda funny because taking walks was always a last resort for me.

I’d prefer riding the stationary bike.

Running on the treadmill.

Or some other more intense forms of cardio.

When I started writing more, I started walking a lot more as well.

The more I walked, the more I walked with my thoughts.

And the more time I was with my thoughts, the sharper they became.

I heard from someone once that “the job of the writer is not to write, but to think and get his or her ideas across clearly and vividly.”

Who knows, I could be making that up on the fly.

But it made a whole lotta sense to me.

Since hearing that, and witnessing it firsthand, I’ve incorporated 20-30 minute walks into my routine.

That’s enough time to get the endorphins flowing and your brain firing on all cylinders.

So, if you’re not feeling creative, go out and take a walk.

You can take a pen and a notepad if you’d like.

That’s what I normally do.

Also, when you take these walks, not only are you letting your creative juices flow.

But you’re also moving the body.

Thanks for reading.

I hope you have a blessed rest of your weekend.

Until next time my brothers and sisters,

Alex out.
