Why should God let you into heaven?

If you stood before God and He were to ask you, “why should I let you into heaven?”

What would you say?”

That’s the question I asked on stage with a crowd of 250 plus people.

Last Week Was Rough

Last week really put life into perspective for me.

I’ll be straight up with you.

I lost my cousin last week.

It was the first heart-wrenching loss for me.

My family and I cried and kept on crying.

My cousin was only 22 years old.

I grew up with him.

I went over to his place to play the Xbox more times than I could remember.

And Saturday last week, we had a memorial service for him.

Our family and I prepared all throughout the week.

And I asked his parents (my aunt and uncle) if I could share something about him.

They agreed.

So, I shared one of the last conversations I had with him.

What was the topic, you might ask?

Faith.

We’re about to get spiritual in here.

The Good News

If you don’t know already, I’m a Christian.

And If you didn’t, surprise!!!

I believe that Jesus came as my Lord and savior.

And that He gave His life to pay for my sins once and for all.

That He got beaten and was killed on the cross.

And then got buried.

But three days later, He rose from the dead and showed himself to 500 plus people.

And because I believe in that message, and that message alone.

Not because of my works.

And not because of my church attendance, is the reason I will be saved.

I will go to heaven.

And so will you if you believe in this message.

This is the good news.

These are the same words I shared with my cousin during one of our last conversations.

I told him that this is a free gift to all who believe.

Romans 10:9 says:

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Saved from what?

Saved from being thrown into Hell (the lake of fire).

This is what I shared with him.

And it was also what I shared with the 250 plus people that came to his memorial service.

My Answer On Why I Should Be Let Into Heaven

So, I’ll ask you again.

If you stood before God and He were to ask you, “why should I let you into heaven?”

What would you say?”

This is what I would say…

“Because I believe in your son Jesus, whom you sent to die for my sins once and for all.

Not only my sins, but the sins of humanity.

He took our sins to the cross, where He was beaten and killed.

He was then buried, but rose from the dead 3 days later and appeared to 500 plus people.

And because I believe in that message, I am saved.

My Priorities In Life

My faith is my #1 priority in life.

And right next to that at #2 is my family.
