The hour of power
Your first waking hour is the most important.
It’s what’ll get your day rolling.
You have the choice.
Either you hit snooze.
Or
You wake up and dominate the day.
Are you gonna start your day with an L or with a W?
3 years ago I was stacking those L’s like the Rock stacks his pancakes.
Hitting snooze was a part of my daily routine lol.
I was hittin the snooze button like a boxer hittin the sandbag.
Not only was I sleeping in, but after I truly woke up, my default was to check social media first thing in the morning.
After my daily dose of cheap dopamine, I’d get ready for work.
By the time I showered and got ready, I was already running late.
I ran 5-8 minutes late at least 3-4x a week.
And the crazy part is that I only worked 4x days a week.
I wasn’t kidding about stacking those L’s.
You see where I’m going with this though?
When you start your day on the wrong foot, that momentum continues to build throughout your day.
But the same happens when you start your day with a W.
I’ll never forget the day I snapped out of the hypnotic trance I found myself in.
I had just finished an extremely rare morning weight lifting session.
I got up at 6am and got done around 7am.
I probably hit a chest day or something, if I had to guess.
As I got in my car, I opened my phone and scrolled through Twitter.
I didn’t have to scroll down very far to see the tweet that would help cement how important the first waking hour is.
All I remember is the Twitter thread talking about the first hour of your day.
At that moment, I realized I needed to do something different than hittin’ snooze or scrolling on my phone for the first hour of my day.
I needed to adopt a new routine that would start me off on the right foot.
Something that would get me closer every single day to the ideal version of my future self.
My hour of power is now dedicated to…
Studying my bible - 35m
Memorizing pieces of scripture - 10m
Praying - 15m
I’m not saying this has to be your hour of power.
But this routine helps me get closer to that ideal version of my future self.
Anyway, if you need some help with this, I’m always open to have a quick chat with ya.

Thanks for reading.
I hope you have a blessed rest of your day.
Until next time my brothers and sisters.
