The real secret to "getting good"
Did you know I used to be a Twitch streamer?
Don’t believe me?
You could probably go on Twitch right now and search “DezeNuggetz” and find me.
I don’t know if there will be any content up because I haven’t logged on in years.
And before you ask, yes, I made money off it.
I wasn’t doing 6 figures or anything.
If I had to guess, I probably did around $1K total in my 4 years of streaming.
I used to stream a bunch of games.
But the one I streamed the most was FIFA.
I bring this up because there was a point in my life where I was streaming every day.
Whether rain or shine, I was playing some FIFA.
As bad as it sounds, I even rejected invitations from my family and friends.
I didn’t want to break my streak of streaming FIFA every day.
Why do I share this quick story though?
Because sometimes we forget the most essential part of making progress in anything.
And that my amigos is mastering the art of showing up.
Hack this.
Hack that.
Blah, blah, blah.
Everyone wants quick-fix solutions.
But nobody’s willing to show up and put in the work that’s required every day.
And that, my friends, is the secret formula for getting good.
Show up and put in your reps every day.
Kinda like I’m doing with these emails.
They might not be good…yet.
But eventually, through hundreds, maybe even thousands of repetitions, I’ll hit a home run.
And when that happens, all that practice will have been worth it.
So, don’t give up yet.
Keep showing up.
Do the work that’s required.
Get your practice in before you go to the main stage.
That’s all I got for ya today.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a blessed rest of your day.
Alex “master the art of showing up” Garcia out.
P.S
I made a free checklist for content creators that wanna improve their focus.
It’s only 3 items and they’re the same ones I use every day.
You can check that out here.
