Think deeper, write faster
I genuinely enjoy switching things up.
I don’t really like to have this rigid routine that’s set in stone.
I know, I know.
“But Alex, they keep you consistent and stay on top of things.”
I hear ya.
But if you read the email, I sent out last week on “shocking the system”, I talked about how I went to Wyoming for the first time.
It was the perfect wake up call.
Because that day showed me the importance of switching things up.
Sometimes you can really get lost in your routine, and it just becomes another zombie like thing.
Which leads me to the point of today’s email.
Writing.
While I was in Wyoming, I did a lot of writing.
Most of that was on pen and paper.
Why though?
Tuesday I talked about “living like a hybrid.”
And that’s exactly what I was doing.
When I write on my laptop, I can get a lot of writing done.
It’s just way faster and I use an editing software like ProWritingAid to catch 90% of my errors.
But, as much as I love writing on my laptop, sometimes I’ll switch it up.
I’ll go old school and bust out the blank piece of paper and pen.
It’s no surprise when I do that I also write a lot slower.
But here’s the plus side.
I get to think deeper about what I write.
It might not make sense because it’s full of spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes, but I feel a lot more tranquil.
If you only write on your laptop, I encourage you to give going old school a chance.
And if you only write on pen and paper, I recommend you give writing on the laptop a chance.
Live like a hybrid.
Anyway, that’s all I got for ya today.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a blessed rest of your day.
