We've been going off course
Here’s what I’ve been thinking.
The original name for my newsletter was called “properly equipped”.
And originally I started this newsletter to share what I learned from my studies in the Bible.
And don’t get me wrong.
I’ve had a blast writing about what I’m learning with focus, writing and productivity.
But, I’ve been going way off course on why I started this newsletter.
I started this newsletter because I wanted to stay accountable to someone or something.
I wanted a platform to share everything that I’ve been learning about personal development, self-improvement, growth or whatever you wanna call it.
What’s the difference between my newsletter and all the other self development newsletters?
I want to talk about it through a biblical lens.
Here’s why.
I used to believe that the Bible was a book about religion.
Oh, how wrong was I.
The Bible is actually a guidebook for life.
And every time, it surprises me how applicable to everyday life it actually is.
I’ve been studying the word of God every day for the past 3 months now and I’m still blown away by how everything in my life has changed.
And that’s what I want to share here.
Also, how I’m applying it to my everyday life.
I’m still a baby in my faith.
I’ve only been a follower of Christ for about 3 years.
I don’t know everything.
And if there are any bible scholars in here, if I get anything completely wrong, please let me know.
As I tell people all the time, “I know very little”.
But I’m not worried about what I don’t know.
I’m more focused on taking action on what I do know.
So, this is my warning to you.
If you don’t care to receive my e-mails anymore, that’s fine.
But for those that want to stay, welcome.
My first ever e-mail was touching on this important piece of scripture found in 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
And that’s where I got the name “properly equipped” from.
Because as a man of God, I want to be equipped for every good work.
And as a student of the Bible, I want to share what’s been changing my life.
These newsletters are going to be me sharing what I’ve been learning in the week from my Bible.
This week’s e-mail wasn’t as valuable as the others.
But I wanted to let you in on what I’ve been thinking recently.
This idea has been creeping in the back of my mind for some time now.
And this is my way of stepping on the gas pedal.
Thanks for reading.
I hope this was of some value to you.
Have a blessed rest of your day.
Until next time my brothers and sisters,
Alex out.

P.P.S
I didn’t have time to edit this because I got called into work this morning.
So if anything’s off, please let me know haha.
The most important thing is that I’m showing up.
